Acron Aviation and Zhuhai Xiangyi Aviation Technology Company Limited (ZHFTC) have signed an historic agreement for Acron Aviation to supply the Simulator Management Unit (SMU) for a new Airbus A350 Full Flight Simulator (FFS), effectively introducing a new business model to the FFS manufacturing industry.

ZHFTC will build Acron Aviation’s SMU into its A350 Level D FFS device. The SMU was developed collaboratively and is based on Acron Aviation’s proven A350 widebody simulation framework that employs multi-format adaptation to deliver aircraft system simulations.

This modular component operates in a structured, regulatory-compliant configuration that integrates operational logic and environmental modelling. As a critical component of the simulation architecture, the SMU will integrate with ZHFTC’s proprietary hardware platform, culminating in a jointly developed A350 FFS system.

Acron Aviation will manage the software load via the SMU, which includes the Airbus data pack and Interface Control Document (ICD) files, with ZHFTC taking care of the hardware. The ICD interfaces, via data exchanges, between the flight simulator and real-world aircraft components ensuring seamless integration and communication.

Ben Swann, GM & VP Training Systems, Acron Aviation. “This industry-first agreement with Zhuhai Xiangyi Aviation Technology perfectly epitomizes our company vision, to become the unconventional top-tier partner of choice for our customers. It fundamentally changes the way simulation devices are traditionally made, and opens opportunities for device manufacturers, airlines and training centers alike.”

Zhuhai Xiangyi Aviation Technology Co., Ltd. is a wholly owned subsidiary of China Southern Airlines Co., Ltd. Established in 2002, with headquarters in Zhuhai City, Guangdong Province it operates 34 full-flight simulators, providing training to over 300 clients, both domestically and internationally.
