Course overview

Since its introduction in the early 1990s, Crew Resource Management (CRM) has played a critical role in reducing airline accidents and incidents. Today, CRM is a mandatory subject integrated into all training for aircrew, as per EASA regulations.

Acron Aviation’s CRM Instructor Course ensures that your CRM instructors are fully trained and qualified to deliver compliant, effective CRM training to your crews. The course is designed for airlines and Approved Training Organizations (ATOs) looking to maintain the highest safety standards through well-trained CRM instructors.

Course content

The CRM Instructor Course is structured over five days, covering both instructional techniques and practical CRM application.

Days 1 & 2: Instructional Techniques & Theoretical Knowledge

  • Instructional techniques refresher
  • The learning process
  • The teaching process
  • Training philosophies
  • Techniques of applied instruction
  • Student evaluation, using the NOTECHS marker system, and progress report writing
  • Practical briefing, training, and assessment
  • Introduction to facilitation – theory and practical application

Days 3 to 5: Facilitation & Applied CRM Techniques

  • Facilitation training and development
  • Practical application of instructional techniques
  • Applied CRM techniques: when to apply specific methods
  • Behavioral markers – NOTECHS (or other preferred framework) – observation and debriefing
  • Human performance and limitations (HPL) review
  • CRM subject matter review
  • Observation and debriefing of CRM exercises and scenarios

Prerequisites

Participants in this course should have previous classroom training experience and a solid working knowledge of CRM, human factors, and HPL. This ensures that trainees are well-equipped to handle the advanced instructional techniques covered in the program.
