Acron Aviation is celebrating 25 years at the forefront of aviation surveillance and communications technology. Since acquiring its surveillance business from Honeywell in 2000, Acron Aviation has grown its influence in the aerospace communications and surveillance arena, with its cutting-edge systems installed on thousands of aircraft worldwide.

Today, Acron Aviation’s products, including Terrain Collision Avoidance Systems (TCAS) and Terrain Awareness Warning Systems (TAWS), are essential components for major OEMs like Airbus and Boeing, delivered through its joint venture with Thales - Aviation Communication & Surveillance Systems (ACSS).

Launched in 2001, ACSS designs and manufactures products for all aircraft and helicopter segments, and supports products for air transport and regional airlines, business aviation, helicopter, general aviation, manned and unmanned military aircraft operators.

Building on its legacy of innovation, Acron Aviation recently celebrated a major milestone with SafeRoute+, a next-generation situational awareness tool. Selected by American Airlines to support the air traffic management needs of its Airbus fleet, SafeRoute+ delivers real-time cockpit traffic displays that help pilots optimize spacing, reduce vectoring, and achieve tangible environmental and cost savings.

Chris Polynin, Director, Product Development, Acron Aviation said. “This marks a significant milestone for our organization. As we transition into our next chapter, we remain grounded in our history while staying firmly focused on the future. Our mission continues to drive innovation that advances aviation safety. ACSS stands at the forefront of this effort, delivering avionics solutions that enhance safety, situational awareness, and operational efficiency for commercial and military operators - today and for the next 25 years.”

The need for smarter technologies has never been greater. In 2024 alone, the U.S. recorded 1,474 runway incursions, an average of four per day, highlighting the need for more advanced situational awareness and spacing technologies. Acron Aviation delivers comprehensive, cutting-edge solutions that enhance customers' operations and further their mission of innovating to create safer skies.
