Product overview

The Acron Aviation DM58 is a preamplified digital microphone that provides an ED-112A-compliant integrated Cockpit Area Microphone (CAM) and preamplifier functionality for commercial and military aircraft. The microphone output may be either analog for current generation Cockpit Voice Recorders (CVRs) or digital for next generation recorders. The inclusion of an ED-112A compliant preamplifier benefits customers by reducing system part count, size and weight.

  • Integrated CAM and preamplifier for CVR
  • ED-112A CAM and ED-112 Preamplifier are compliant with latest ED-112A specifications
  • User-selectable attenuation
  • Compact size, and simplified installation and wiring

Key features

Compliant with ED-112A specifications

Both the Acron Aviation DM58’s Cockpit Area Microphone (CAM) and preamplifier are ED-112A compliant, providing versatility when used with either current CVRs or digital next-generation voice recorders. The ED-112A CAM includes Micro-Electro-Mechanical Systems (MEMS) technology, improved vibration immunity for helicopter and turboprop installations, and improved cell phone/GSM signal immunity. The ED-112 Preamplifier features both analog and digital output options and features Digital Signal Processing for precise performance.

Versatile mounting options and formats

The DM58’s mounting capability is compatible with legacy CAM models. Additionally, the ED-112 Preamplifier features both analog and digital output options and Digital Signal Processing for precise performance. The integrated microphone and preamplifier also supports modern glass cockpits where a traditional CVR control unit/preamplifier is not desired. TSO approval simplifies certification for aircraft manufacturers, installers and end users.
