Acron Aviation, through its joint venture Aviation Communication & Surveillance Systems (ACSS), has announced a new program to develop and certify an ADS-B In retrofit solution specifically for Boeing 757 and 767 aircraft.

As global air traffic density increases, this program provides a critical pathway for operators to modernize legacy flight decks with advanced situational awareness and precision spacing tools. The solution utilizes ACSS’s SafeRoute+ ADS-B In technology hosted on the next-generation TCAS 3000SP platform, ensuring fleets meet the latest TCAS requirements while gaining immediate operational advantages.

“This offering provides a clear path for operators to adopt flight deck traffic awareness and spacing capabilities that have already demonstrated significant operational efficiency and safety benefits,” said Cam Morast, Product Manager at ACSS.

“By hosting these capabilities on our TCAS 3000SP platform, we are giving 757 and 767 operators a high-fidelity view of their surrounding airspace, enabling the kind of precise interval management that lowers fuel burn and improves on-time performance”.

Beyond compliance, the SafeRoute+ suite delivers measurable benefits shown by the FAA to improve a carrier’s bottom line:

  • Fuel and emissions reduction: Reduced oceanic fuel burn through In-Trail Procedures (ITP) that allow for optimized flight levels.
  • Time savings: Optimized enroute spacing and reduced vectoring through Interval Management, leading to decreased block times.
  • Increased throughput: Increased arrival efficiency and runway throughput with CAVS/CAS.
  • Enhanced safety: Improved runway safety with Surface Alerting (SURF-A), Superior situational awareness for flight crews through AIRB.

The solution is designed for seamless integration with modernized primary flight displays, allowing for a phased installation that aligns with an operator's existing heavy maintenance schedule to minimize downtime.

As regulatory momentum for ADS-B In continues to build globally, early adoption allows operators to capture immediate efficiency gains while positioning their fleets for potential future mandates. The integrated solution is expected to be available in early 2027.
