Acron Aviation, a global provider of aviation safety-critical training solutions, today announced that National Airlines has selected its Flight Management System Trainer (FMST) to support pilot training for the airline’s Boeing 777 fleet, with an additional agreement now in place to deploy FMST for the Boeing 747-400.

The selection follows the successful approval by the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) of National Airlines’ Boeing 777 training program, which incorporates Acron Aviation’s FMST as a core component. Building on this milestone, National Airlines has signed a second agreement to implement Acron Aviation’s B747-400 FMST while updating its courseware and curriculum to further integrate the company’s training technology.

The FMST provides pilots with highly realistic, scenario-based training that enhances flight management system proficiency, operational readiness, and situational awareness before entering full flight simulator environments. By embedding the solution into its training programs, National Airlines is strengthening its ability to prepare crews for the operational demands and complexities of modern flight decks.

Tyler Holzer, Vice President & General Manager, Classroom Training Devices, at Acron Aviation, said: “The FAA approval of National Airlines’ B777 training program and this follow-on agreement for the B747-400 reflect the proven quality and effectiveness of our FMST solution.” Holzer continued, “We are proud to support National Airlines with advanced training tools that help ensure pilots are fully prepared for the rigors of today’s flight deck environments.”

Capt. John Wittner, Director of Flight Operations Training & Standards for National Airlines, added: “Acron Aviation’s FMST has significantly enhanced our training capability by providing pilots with an immersive and practical environment to build FMS proficiency before entering fixed-based and full-flight simulator training. This added preparation improves pilot readiness, supports more efficient use of simulator time, and strengthens the consistency and effectiveness of our program, reflecting our continued commitment to excellence in training.”

“The successful FAA approval, and our decision to expand its use across additional fleet types demonstrates our confidence in the product’s ability to support efficient, high-quality pilot training, while helping pilots succeed in training and apply that knowledge to the highest standards of safety and efficiency in our demanding line operations.”
