Product overview
Easily access and download cockpit voice & flight data. Acron Aviation’s tablet-based Recorder Data Interface (RDI) enables operators to easily access and securely download the aircraft cockpit voice, datalink and flight data records. Designed with input from airlines and OEM’s, the RDI application features an intuitive user interface.
With its easy workflow menus, virtually no training is required to perform key tasks so the technicians can quickly retrieve cockpit voice, datalink, flight data and fault logs without removing the recorder from the aircraft. In addition, there are live monitoring features that can be used to quickly validate the audio channels/microphones and FDR data parameters for real-time troubleshooting on the aircraft.
- Fast data access to support larger CVR and FDR recording times
- Ruggedized tablet for harsh environments, yet fits snugly in a hand
- Intuitive user interface design requires no special training
- Secure data retrieval and transmission
- Reduces training and in-house staff costs needed for recorder analysis
Key features
Recorders supported
The RDI supports the Acron Aviation SRVIVR25 recorder family in preparation for the 25-Hour cockpit voice recording mandate. The RDI can easily handle the significant memory needed to capture and download the cockpit voice and flight data quickly. The RDI also supports the FA2100 and FA5000 series of recorders.
Robust hardware & secure data transfer
The RDI hardware is a ruggedized tablet compliant to IP65 and MIL-STD-810G standards to withstand harsh environments. The RDI tablet can be securely held with one palm using the hand strap and has a large 8.1” HD touchscreen with sunlight-readable display and multiple touchscreen modes.
The RDI supports a 1GBit Ethernet interface, allowing much faster download speeds including supporting CVRs where recording times went from 2 hours of audio to 25 hours across 4 channels.
The cable that comes standard with the RDI has a rugged MIL-38999 connector on one end to fasten securely to the SRVIVR25 recorders and Ethernet RJ45 on the other end to interface to the RDI tablet.
To protect the integrity and confidentiality of the file contents, all files are securely retrieved, stored and transmitted to the operators’ flight safety departments. Operators can also subscribe to the services offered by Acron Aviation for audio intelligibility, regulatory checks and the Flight Data Management (FDM) or Flight Operations Quality Assurance (FOQA) programs.
The RDI Kit comes standard with the ruggedized tablet preloaded with RDI application software, hand-strap and SRVIVR25 cable, all contained in a protective hard case with customized foam inserts.
Designed for technicians
The ergonomically designed tablet easily fits into one hand, weighs less than two pounds and provides a touchscreen configured to capture finger, glove and pen contact. The RDI does not need any specialized training to operate the device. It provides intuitive interfaces using logical, simplified menus based on collaboration with maintenance operator requirements to provide quick at-wing and ground support services.
Acron Aviation Express Readout services
Operators who subscribe to the Acron Aviation Express Readout services can utilize the secure, cloud-based services enabling users to upload, analyze and access reports as well as other data downloaded from the flight and cockpit voice data recorders. The easy-to-use service allows access to multiple flights simultaneously and provides the most rapid solution for providing readout and intelligibility reports within hours, which meets ICAO, EASA, FAA mandates.
